บังเอิญไปเจอคำสั่ง alien เข้าเห็นว่าน่าสนใจดีน่าจะมีประโยชน์ต่อตัวเองและคนอื่นบ้าง (ตอนนี้ยังไม่มี - -”) เลยเอามาเล่าสู่กันฟังไว้ก่อน คือว่า จากที่รู้ๆกันอยู่ว่า ไฟล์ติดตั้งโปรแกรมบนลีนุกซ์นั้น เป็นที่นิยมอยู่สองค่ายคือ .rpm จาก Redhat และ .deb จาก Debian (Ubuntu) นอกนั้นก็เป็น source file ที่ต้องนำไป compile กันเอาเอง จากสองนามสกุล (.rpm และ .deb) ไม่สามารถเอามาติดตั้งสลับกันได้ และเพราะอย่างนี้นี่เอง ถึงต้องใช้คำสั่ง alien มาจัดการเปลี่ยนสลับให้ระหว่างสองนามสกุลนี้
ก่อนอื่นต้องติดตั้งโปรแกรม alien ก่อนตามคำสั่งด้านล่างนี้

$ sudo apt-get install alien

ติดตั้งเสร็จแล้วลองดูซิว่ามันทำอะไรได้บ้าง ดูจาก helpตามกรอบด้านล้าง

-i, --install             Install generated package.
-g, --generate            Generate build tree, but do not build package.
-c, --scripts             Include scripts in package.
-v, --verbose             Display each command alien runs.
--veryverbose         Be verbose, and also display output of run commands.
-k, --keep-version        Do not change version of generated package.
--bump=number         Increment package version by this number.
-h, --help                Display this help message.
-V, --version             Display alien's version number.

คราวนี้ก็มาลองการใช้งานกันครับคร่าวๆนะครับ สมมุติว่ามีไฟล์ test.rpm ต้องการทำให้เป็น .deb ก็สั่งดังนี้ครับ

alien --to-deb package.rpm

หรืออยากเอาโปรแกรมที่อยู่บน Debian(Ubuntu) ไปใช้งานบน Redhat ก็สั่งดังนี้ครับ

alien --to-rpm test.deb

ง่ายดีไหมครับ และลูกเล่นๆอื่นๆอีกดูตาม help แล้วลองใช้ดูนะครับ สำเร็จหรือมีปัญหายังไง โปรดอย่ารอช้า แต่จงคอมเม้นท์ด้วยความระทึกในดวงหทัยพลัน..

กำลังหลงใหลได้ปลื้มกับ เจ้ากวางน้อย kubuntu 7.04 โค๊ดเนม Feisty Fawn หลังจากติดตั้งมาสอง-สามวันแล้วแต่ก็ไม่ได้ใช้งานอะไรมากเพราะช่วงนี้ ssh อย่างเดียวเลย และสำหรับ firefox นั้นสามารถตัดคำภาษาไทยได้เลยไม่ต้องทำอะไรเพิ่ม (แต่ถ้าเรื่องตัดใจfirefoxช่วยไม่ได้นะครับ)

ต่อมาคือโปรแกรมสนทนา ซึ่งขาดไม่ได้ในชีวิตของคนทำงานด้านนี้ ผมเองใช้กลับไปกลับมาระหว่าง kopete และ Gaim ซึ่ง Gaim ผมจะใช้บนวินโดวส์(รู้จักป่ะ) และkopeteจะใช้บนลีนุกซ์ตลอด คือเรื่องของเรื่องไม่ได้คอนฟิกมันมานานมากแล้ว พอมาวันนี้ที่ต้องคอนฟิกใหม่ msn ผ่าน yahoo ผ่าน icq ผ่าน แต่ดันมางง GTalk ซะงั้น เลยต้องเริ่มหาข้อมูลใหม่ว่าใช้ server ตัวไหน port อะไร จึงต้องมาบันทึกไว้กันลืม ตามด้านล่างนี้

อดทนมานานแสนนานแล้วเหมือนกัน ปกติผมเองเป็นคนค่อนข้างอดทนกับปัญหาต่างๆอยู่พอสมควร ผมใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตความเร็วสูง adsl จากทีโอที ที่ความเร็ว 512/256 Kbps ใช้งานมาปีได้แล้ว บอกตามตรงมันขอจากผู้ให้บริการรายอื่นไม่ได้จริงๆ “ใช้ทีโอทีต้องอดทน” มันก้องอยู่ในหัวทุกครั้งที่เน็ตเริ่มช้ามากๆ(ปกติมันจะช้ามาก) เน็ตหลุด(วันล่ะครั้งสองครั้งห้วงเวลาแล้วแต่ 7นาที ถึง 6ชั่วโมง) จนบางครั้งไม่ใหวมากๆเข้าเคยว่าจะไปโพสต์บอกปัญหาซักหน่อยถึงได้เข้าเว็บบอร์ดของทีโอทีเป็นครั้งแรกที่ http://www.tot.co.th/tot/board/bb2_v1/viewforum.php?f=10 แต่แล้วก็ต้องเปลี่ยนใจหลังจากเปิดเว็บนี้ความรู้สึกหงุดหงิด(กับการใช้เน็ต)เริ่มหมดไป กลายเป็นความสงสารแทนเจ้าหน้าที่ของทีโอทีเหลือเกิน เว็บบอร์ดนี้เต็มไปด้วยกระทู้ของลูกค้าที่น่าสงสาร หดหู่ สิ้นหวัง ไร้ที่พึ่ง มีโพสต์แจ้งปัญหา โพสต์ด่าทอ บ้างก็เอารูปจากผลการเช็คสปิดมาให้ดูกัน(ประจาน) มือไม้ผมที่เคยสั่นอยากจะเขียนแจ้งปัญหากลับนิ่งลง “เสียมือเปล่าๆ” เพราะเว็บบอร์ดนี้ ไม่มีใครดูแล Moderators: (ไม่มี) ไม่มีการแจ้งว่าเกิดอะไร ไม่มีการแจ้งว่าจะทำอะไร (บางที่จะกวาดพื้นห้องระบบเขายังแจ้งเลย) ปล่อยให้อยู่กันตามมีตามเกิด ขอความเร็ว 512 Kbps เก็บเงินค่าใช้บริการไปเต็มๆทุกเดือน แต่โยนเศษอินเทอร์เน็ตมาให้พวกลูกค้าแย่งกันใช้อย่างอดอยาก สมเพศตัวเองว่ะ

วันนี้ผมเข้าเว็บผม(server อยู่ที่ IDC ของ pacific)ไม่ได้ แต่ไปที่อื่นได้(ช้าๆ)ก็เลยแปลกใจ login ผ่าน ssh ไปที่serverก็ไม่มีปัญหาเว็บก็ทำงานอยู่ สักพักนี้เลยย้อนไปที่เว็บบอร์ดอีกทีไปดูว่าเผื่อมีใครเจอปัญหาเหมือนกันบ้าง พระเจ้าจอร์จ วันนี้พี่แกเล่น lock บอร์ดเว้ยย แม่งอะไรกันว่ะ เหลือทางเดียวคือโทรไปที่ call center 1100 แต่ก็ยังไม่วายอยากเช็คเพื่อความแน่ใจ เลยลองเอา firefox ไปเกาะ proxy ที่บริษัท ซึ่งใช้adslของTrue แล้วก็สามารถเข้าเว็บที่server ได้ เลยโทรไป ลองถามเข้าดูก่อนว่าเน็ตมีปัญหาหรือเปล่า เขาบอกว่า “ระบบล่มครั้งใหญ่ที่ชุมสายหลักสี่ แต่เห็นว่าแจ้งคืนดีมาแล้ว” ผมเองก็ต้องการแค่นี้ จะได้รู้ว่าต้องรออะไร

Colur CCTV, attached to a cheap BT878 4 input Card (Grandtech or so) with motion on SuSE? 9.2. Actually, we have three cams, two CCTV on two cards (for the framerates sake…) and a net based web cam. All with motion 3.2.3, doing snapshots, timelapse and surveillance. To manage this, I’ve just created some jsp’s to maintain the files and a streaming servlet to proxy everything thru port 80 of the web server. And of course, the good old cambozola. When I have some time I’ll dig in to that, more then 4 fps is killing my desktop.
